A STAR QUICKLY FALLING
Coming Soon 2021
Heinrich “Henry” Shenker, a German-born beat poet and missing child of two infamous SS guards, travels by train across the country to perform his written works in coffee houses and concert halls under various aliases. Once his identity is revealed during a performance of his published poem “The Rise,” he seeks refuge in a dead and near-empty Midwestern town populated by other searchers and lonely people like himself.
Meanwhile, a man named Dennis, driven nearly to madness by the death of his wife and haunted by painful memories of his past, finds a stuffed duffle bag containing bizarre religious texts titled The Book of TAF. The words within these books take Dennis from vagabond to cult leader in the same hard-luck town that took Henry in. Within the walls of the dilapidated church where Dennis delivers his sermons, the two men’s fates will converge.
The two men’s lives, and those of everyone in their small town, are shaped and manipulated by The Prime Narrator, a mysterious voice that speaks to the reader—and occasionally intervenes in the unfolding events. “From the branch of a tree, I see much of thee.”
